Water Pressure Guage Installation

I have a 2006 115HP Optimax and I am installing a hydraulic jackplate on my boat. I am adding a water pressure guage also to keep from getting myself in trouble. Where should I tap into my water system for my guage kit on this motor to do this the right way?
Thanks,
Dustin

Not sure on the Opti, but my 4 stroke has a plug in the block for a pressure gauge...

If I had a manual on one I could tell you but having retired in 1991 I have never installed one. Sorry

Dustin, An unused plug on the head is the best place to install the pressure nipple. If you do not have one, the next best place is the water circulation hose from the poppit (bottom starboard side) to the top of the block. Now I am talking about a '93 V135, which is similar to your motor.

On my '93, the telltale only has pressure when the thermostat opens. You therefore get oscillating readings.

Thanks all, once the guage comes in I ordered, I will pull the cowling and see what is what. I do want to avoid the tell tale end for sure if possible, i want to see water pressure going in, not out preferrably.
