I have a 92' Evinrude 150. My water pressure gauge is accurate I think. It has an mark for the recommended water pressure. My boat seems to pull much more than recommended. I was wondering if any of you guys thought this maybe a problem?

If the engine is keeping normal temp while running, I wouldn't worry about it Jay. I would note pressures at different throttle settings and keep these as reference. A smaller engine may not have the same pump pressure your 150 has. If the impeller in your water pump is fairly new and the housing is in good shape, you will see a fairly good pressure to the system.

Believe it or not a higher than normal pressure reading can be an indication of blockage not a good strong pump. I f your pressure readings have recently shot up clean your thermostat housings and blow out your water hoses etc

It depends on which gauge you have. You havent mentioned what pressure its showing either. If you have a 15 lb gauge, sure its going to peg it almost right away.
