I bought my boat (94 Chaparral with 5.7L and Alpha One Gen II) a couple of months ago. I had it serviced (fluids changed, impeller changed, lubed, etc) about 3 weeks ago.

Yesterday we took it out. I started it in the driveway with the ear muffs on. Hardly any water came out the prop. The majority of it came out in two spots, looked like under the bellhousing. A better explanation would be, as I look at where the bellhousing attaches to the boat, at what would be "5 o'clock and 7 o'clock" is where water was spraying out of, but none out the prop - but plenty of exhaust fumes.

We took it to the lake, and ran it around for about an hour or so, and it ran great. Very quiet, nice acceleration, was a blast. I just thought more water would have come out the prop when in my driveway. Does this sound reasonable?

Thanks

Re: Water outlets

That is completely normal! The exhaust will exit there when the motor is at idle or low speeds.
