water outlet on 1974 50hp Evinrude

Was wondering where the water outlet should be on a 1974 50hp Evinrude? Does it shoot water out of the side somewhere or will it come out of the back of the exhaust housing ports? Would this motor have an exhaust flow thru prop and does water exit there as well? Thanks for any help.

there is no tell tale on it. you should get some water coming out the upper exaust ports, but very very little at idle. all other water exits though the prop and various holes in the lower unit.

Thanks for the info. Are these pretty good motors. My cousin has this motor that was actually my grandfathers. It still looks like a new motor and runs really well. He is trying to sale it to me for $375.00. Surely its worth that isnt it? Thanks again for the help.

i just sold mine last week for $550. mine ran great, started INSTANTLY, even when cold. performed great. i would say $375 is a steal, if it comes with controls.
