Re: water leakage

Look under your dash by your speedometer. There will be a small hose - approx. 1/8" in diameter - this is your water pick up. It comes from the back of the boat, connected to a plastic fitting that looks like a skinny sharks fin. Water is pushed through that tube to your speedo which gives you a speed average. Anyhow, if that tube came off it will just push water onto the floor, etc. Replace it and all should stay dry. Try and secure it with a small tie wrap. :D

Re: water leakage

The pitot tube is what controls most speedometers. It is a small plastic tube that runs all the way to the back of the boat and is normally located at the bottom of the boat. Water pressure is what drives the speedometer. Your's is either cracked or no longer connected.

You can either trace the problem under the dash or be prepared to abandon ship in the event of sinking!!!

Actually, water is not forced up to the speedometer head. Water pressure compresses the air in the tube which operates the speedometer head. Don't just reconnect the tube. Disconnect it at the back of the boat, blow out the water, then reconnect everything. Replace the tube if its damaged.
