Took boat out and I have water leaking through the transom where the output shaft and when I started it I have random tapping noise. Didn't launch pulled boat back out cause water was coming up to bilge pump within 15 to 25 minutes. Anyone know what causes this.

What causes it is a leak of some sort.

What drive train is in the boat?

Did you put the transom plug in?

Take the boat back to the ramp, leave it strapped down to the trailer and back into the water. Then grab your phone and take some pictures of the water leak.

Take some pictures of the Mercruiser "Strike" too. Never heard of one.

Is it coming in near the outdrive? some times the glue or silicone loosens up.

Not likely
Did you have the drive off for any service? If not the leak may be a torn/rotted main bellow.
Remove the drive, if you dont know how, ASK You looking for water in the main bellow area
If you see water about 1 inch above the shaft or 1 inch below the shaft you have a leaking main bellow
