water leak around spark plugs

I Have a late 70's mercury 800 (80 hp) I recently fixed a fuel leak and replaced the Impeller on it. It has been in storage for a couple of years. It runs great now but there is a very small leak of water around 2 of the 4 spark plugs. compression is good no cylinder problems, I am assuming it is the head cover gasket for the water jacket. Does this need to be replaced immediately or can I run it a season like this. It is just a few drops of water. Are my assumptions right and how hard it this to fix. Thanks DAN

Hi Little<br />Yes you are correct. Its just a water cover. How ever you should make repairs ASP. You don't want the problem to get worse. Most of the time this job is no big deal.
