I have a simple and maybe stupid set of questions. My neighbor has purchased a used 1989 Force 125 HP outboard. We are attempting to start and run the engine to check it's performance "out of the water" in the maintenace shop. Where is the water inlet to the engine located on the lower unit? Unlike my 90 HP Mercury it has no inlet screens on the sides of the lower unit. Is there a special adapter that must be used to attach a water source. Does this motor have to be placed in a tank? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

WildWillJax-look for water inlet vents on centerline of propshaft-low,near prop.flushers can be connected to this engine but a lil funky-ducttape does wonders for sealing.local marina mechanic tells me he prefers to back these engines down his ramp for flushing/testing/etc.<br />check iboats for svc. manual-it pays for itself.
