Hallo,

I have pulled my drive for the season and everything is fine. However have a question as I do not understand why water is NOT entering the U-joint bellow as the construction tells me it should...... The bearing carrier on the drive has some grooves. The bearing carrier will move toward/ into the lips of the U-joint bellow when the drive is put together. I know you are supposed to put Volvo grease on both the lip of the u-joint bellow and the edge of bearing carrier before pushing the drive on but still how does it seal with the grooves in mind.... Maybe I just should not worry as it seems to work ;-)

The bearing carrier compresses the bellows edge where it contacts, and causes the grooves. Those grooves are where the bolt indents are in the carrier, and will always be in the same place. Those indents have been there since the OMC Cobra started and has never been a problem.
