borrowed my dads 80-something boat w/force motor and single lifter. tilt/trim stopped working while we were out on the water. brought it home and discovered water in system. found leak in copper tubing which i fixed. now my problem is getting all the water out of the system. this is an OLD system copper tubes CANNOT be taken off. The boat really isnt worth replacing the system. ive read about changing the fluid out until it comes clean. Ive gone through 10 16oz bottles of steering fluid and its still as white as can be. at first i was filling resv with motor in up position then hitting the down switch to pump it out w both drain and fill plugs off. some water came out but didnt look promising. then i decided to put drain plug in and fill resv and move motor up and down which expelled some water through the fill hole. when it was back in up position i added more fluid and continued this process for 4 or 5 up and downs then pulled the drain plug and hit the down switch. it was still expelling water. its not getting any cleaner. anyone have any suggestions on how else i can get the water out? or is this going to end up being a long drawn out process? any help would be great
