I have an old evenrude 10 horse and i got it running but when i took out the spark plugs the next day water drained out of the bottome cylinder. how did it get there? I was thinking head gasket but i just wanted some feedback.

It can come from the head gasket, or the exhaust cover gasket

If the motor was taken off and laid down wouldn't it be possible for some water to just run up in the exhaust port? I've had this happen with my old johnson 10 which is the same motor I believe.

If the engine is drained you should not get any water back from the exhaust.
