i was recently sold bad gas with a lot of water, i was not running with a seporator so i just put one in, its a mercury housing with a 10 micron mallory filter. i pumped out all of the fuel exept for a 1/4 inch (lost suction) filled tank with treatment and gas and i still have water in the tank and it goes right through the filter, i replaced the filter and pumped the bulb twice in a clear bucket and it still has water (after clearing lines) is there a filter i can trust?

You need a water seperator. If it is a portable tank tip it up so you trap the
fuel in smallest area possible use small hose like windshield squirt hose and start a syphon by blowing into the fill hole.If you hit it right you will only have a ounce or 2 left. When working with any tank be careful of the fumes.they will flow along the floor to the lowest point.Like down the stairs into the cellar.

If you have alcohol in your gas, this won't work and you'll have to get rid of it. If not, tip the tank so that the corner below the fill hole is low. Then syphon from that corner til you get clear gas flowing. If it's cloudy it has water mixed in yet. It has to flow til it's clear. That'll remove it.
