I have a 98 Volvo Penta 3.0L GS I/O and I am getting water in the oil. Normally all signs would point to a crack in the block but here is my questions. I know I have a crack manifold which I repaired with JB Weld, and I can run the engine to temp all day long out of the water with the water flushing attachment and never get a drop of water in the oil. When I put the boat in the water, thats when I have a problem. COuld this be a result of the cracked manifold, or am I just wishful thinking? Thanks in Adavance.

The boats raw water pump puts out more volume of water than any water hose will. That is why it only shows up in the water.
If you put the drive in a tub of water and ran it, you would get water in the oil.

You can probably just remove the lifter covers and look at the crack if you want to.
