Hello,
I have a 1994 mercruiser 3.0lx carburated engine with an alpha 1 drive. The problem is that after finaly getting her in the water i noticed that i have water in the oil. Before i ran her i changed the oil and tuned her up there was no water in the oil even after i ran her with muffs at idle in my yard for 25 min. I am thinking that for whatever reason i may have a blown head gasket or worse something happend with the block. She never overheatd and this boat has never run this good according to the previous owner,(he was on the boat tonight when this happened). So i was wondering if there is a chance that this water could have come from the intake or are there no oil passages there? Please help im am going to pull my hair out of my head.

Thank you in advance
Bill

Re: Water in oil

Ayuh,... Odds are it's a freeze crack in the block....

With the sparkplugs Out,+ the block drained of water,...
Isolate the Block from the rest of the cooling system,+ pressurize with Air,.. about 15psi..
Then Listen,... You'll Hear the leak,... Follow the sound.....

Welcome Aboard,+ Good Luck....

Bondo,
What is the best way to isolate the block from the rest ofthe cooling system? Will i need to fab special block off plates and such? If you could give me a procdure i would greatly appreciate it.
