Engine is a 1999 Honda 90. Just returned from a week long fishing trip during which no problems with the engine was experienced. I had spent much time low speed trolling with several daily runs at 4500 to 6000 rpm. On returning home I pulled the dipstick and chocolate milk colored fluid pushed out of the dipstick tube. I drained the crankcase and the filter of the same fluid. I assume water was emulsified in the engine oil. I pulled the spark plugs and they looked OK.

Did a compression test: #1 cylinder 92 psi, #2 cylinder 85 psi, #3 cylinder 92 psi, #4 cylinder 95 psi

Drained the old oil, flushed the crankcase, and installed new filter and fresh oil. I ran the motor for an hour with "earmuffs" providing water. Then drained the oil and it appeared cloudy.

I'm thinking it is a blown head gasket or cracked head or block between the lubrication system and the cooling system. How are those compression numbers? Any other tests that may narrow the nature of needed repairs?

Re: Water in oil

welcome to iboats jerseygirl-2 :)
it sounds like your on the rite track.

However if want to see if it could be a ring issue with the #2 cylinder low comp you can check that buy putting a tablespoon of motor oil into the #2 cylinder then crank it over a few turns recheck comp if it goes up its a ring issue if not head or gasket.
