I am another first time boat owner. When I purchased the boat the seller took me out for a ride. It was the first the boat had been in the water for the season. When we went out the engine started to overheat. It was makeing a knocking sound plus smoking slightly. He shut it down immediatly. The boat had been running for less that a minute. He realized that he forgot to put his water intake back on from the winterization. We let the engine cool and replaced the hose. We started back up and everything appeared to be OK. I purchased the boat. I brought the boat to a mechanic to tune it up and replace the fluids. I told him what had happened. When he drained the oil there was water mixed in the oil. He said that was a sign that the seals had been broken on the head. He would have to pull the heads and send them out to a machine shop to check for cracks and replace the head gaskets. My questions are..... Does this sound right? Am I looking for further trouble and more expense? How much should the cost of this procedure be. And is this my only option? PS have faith in the world the sell refunded me $1000 for my trouble.

Fred
