water in gas

i have a 1989 mnoterey 1900 after about two tanks of gas the water in tank fouls the carburator how is that much water getting in?<br />its a new plastic tank the old steel tank had the same problem

Probably getting in through the filler fitting. Make sure it seals off tight when closed.

Is your Vent taking on sea spray ????
