I have an 89 omc cobra 5.0 . I winterized the boat myself, last year. Before taking on our first trip this year, I ran the motor on muffs for appr. 20 minutes. I towed it to the lake (6 hours) and it started and ran fine (1/2 hour)(Ramp is moderately steep. Water was very calm). The next day it ran at idle to charge the batteries for a total of 30 min. (again, water was calm)<br />The next day it rolled over a few times and then hyrdolocked. It had water in 4 or 5 cylinders. I cleared the water and it started. I've started and ran it a dozen times since, and it's ran at 3200 RPM's for several hours with no problems. The temperature is always good (175) and it runs great. I've ran it on muffs back at the house and all is fine. Was this a freak occurance or do I have a problem.

While it was on the muffs before going to the lake, my children turned the hose on and off seveal times while the engine was not running.

dosent sound like you spun a bearing or any thing....i think cheap gas has water in it...i hope you have changed the oil..ive lived in alaska for a while before ,,and they would go out monster trucking and get silty water in there cylinders ...theyd pull the plugs crank it over a few times and put the plugs back in ,,,,only had to wory about the silt getting into the oil and wearing on things..
