water in cylinder

I have had my 10 hp Honda (late 80's model) in the shop. They are telling me low compression and it has had water in the cylinder. Anywhere between 200-1000 to fix. Any advise??

Wait for an estimate. Might just need a head gasket. Might need an overhaul. I take it they want more time to remove the head for an accurate estimate? Nothing will be known til it's off. If they get it off and you decide not to repair it, they're still going to want to be paid for their time.

If it's anything other than a gasket...Junk it.
