water in crankcase

I have a 96 1100 yamaha waverunner and need to check for water in the crankcase. what is the easiest way and the best way to dain it if wateris present. The fluch line was turned on with a leak in the eahaust connector and I am afraid it may have pushed water into the case

pull the plugs and crank the engine , if water shoots out the plug holes there is water in the crank case, if not you may have a little but get the engine running and let it run for a few minuter.
