Water/fuel filter install

I'm adding a water/fuel filter to my boat this spring. I've got a sbc 350 with a mechanical fuel pump and a Qjet carb. I'd like to mount the filter to my transom. Does anyone know if there are any limitations in regards to length of fuel line or the height of the filter compared to the fuel pump or carb?

Hope that make sense.

Thanks!

Mount it wherever it's easy to reach for service, check WOT fuel flow of your motor for similar fuel flow of filter. I don't believe the clear plastic filter bowl types are approved for inboards due to possible cracking/leakage/fire hazards. Always carry a spare cartridge on your boat and dump your cartridge on a regular basis to stay aware of water/debris/whatever in your fuel delivery system. I dump mine in a clear container so I can see what's in it. Racor is a big manufacturer in these type filters, maybe check them out, since there's lots of different types and sizes. Good Luck!
