i recently cleaned a lot of corrosion out of the head and replaced the head gaskets, and put a new impeller in a 8 hp nissan, 2 strk. now when i run it water only cones from the exhaust, it is a steady stream, but almost nothing comes from the tell tale. why is this happening? also the water is a little warmer than should be, is this because the engine is hot or becuase it is micing with the exhaust and getting hot? thanks alot!

Re: water from the exhaust.

The pee tube may be clogged up. You can try blowing compressed air back through it or poking a small wire in. As to the possible overheating...Pull the engine cover while the engine is running. If the block is so hot that you cannot put your best friend's hand on it without him getting a burn, then you are overheating. If it is unpleasant, but no burn, then it is fine.

right you were, there was a big old salt clog in it. but now there is still a good amount of water coming from the exhaust, not a steady stream, but a kind of spray. also the block isnt hot enough to burn my buddies hand, but it heat up pretty quick, but is still touchable...thats normal right?

Most of the water comes through the prop. As long as you are not getting burned...you should be ok.
