water flow

I bought a 2005 mercury 9.9 outboard 4 stroke and water comes from a hole on the front of the lower section about halfway down besides the normal outlet in the rear when running.
Can anyone tell me why? Thank You

You are posted in the wrong section. You need to be in outboards.

I did not know how to move it so I copied an pasted it in the Merc OB section. Hope that helps someone.
