i have a 1998 sea doo spx 85hp heres my situation...i was riding and all of the sudden the engine started to slow down and eventually stop the starter wouldnt turn i brought it home the starter turned for a while and then the compression started building up and so the starter couldnt turn anymore so i took out both plugs i had spark fuel and compression but when i turned the starter one cylinder was fine but one had water shooting out of it my thought was that cooling water was leaking through the head gasket into the cylinder itself is that the problem? to fix it all i need to do is change the head gasket??? i just want someones opinion thanks

Re: water coming out of one cylinder

I could be just the head gasket. It also could be a crack in the jug, or an issue with the exhaust gasket/manafold.

But you do need to disassembly that cylinder, I don't know if it is a monoblock or not, hope not.

If water has been in there without the ski ran breifly, out of the water, after use. You may have rod and crank bearing issues in the furture do to rusting from water exposure.
