Water coming out of exhaust baffle?

I have a 1984 Johnson 8hp. I recently did lower unit and fuel system service on it, put it on the boat, and noticed that water is coming out of exhaust baffle (rear, just below engine housing) as well as the cooling indicator. I can't recall if it did that before; is it supposed to run some of the cooling water out of there? Please let me know if this is normal or if I have a problem! Any info is greatly appreciated; thanks!

If you're speaking of the rectangular plate on the side of the powerhead... No, water is not supposed to exit that plate.

For some reason I can't get the picture to upload on here, but if you're looking at the back of the outboard, a few inches below the cowling handle on the bottom of the lower engine cover, there is a rectangular port. If water is not supposed to come from there...what is the likely problem causing that, and would that cause my motor to run sluggish with no power?

Circlehook..... You can upload pictures to Photobucket free, then click/copy on the "image" choice to copy/paste the picture here. Self explanatory once you get there.

Kevdude..... The part you describe is the exhaust outlet baffle. Both water and exhaust will exit that area. This is normal and would not be a cause of engine malfunction.

Your photos might be too big. Try opening up the picture in Paint and resize it 25 or 50% of original size. Then save it as a new name and try posting it again.
