water around bilge area

I own a Alumaweld 19ft. SuperVee jetsled. It has a manual bilge pump. When I look down in the area of the bilge pump I always see a little water around it. I was told this could be coming from around my drain plug as it is hard to get it in tight. I always put it in as tight as possible. Any other ideas? How could I check?

The water could be coming from many places I would suggest you drain it completly dry and just watch for the leak around the drain plug. I use a teflon tape around the drain plug on my boat but it stays in the water year round. If it is a screw in type of plug this will work.
