Watched this on the local news today.

Well once again the bad people are out trying to ruin the good peoples holidays!

A local couple here the other day had got tired of somebody stealing their packages off their porch when they delivered, so they devised a plan, so they put couple of wireless cameras on their porch that would call their cell phones when they sensed movement and transmit the images to them.

Next they decided they were going to use a FedEx box that they fixed up and filled with of all things, their babies dirty diapers!

They set the box out the next morning and low and behold the local box thief shows up as if on schedule!

Looking around he sets the cameras off, one calls the police and once watches the thief! he grabs it and walks about out to his car, police show up and stop him, he is in a FedEx employee uniform, apparently he was recently fired.

So now he has been charged with theft, fraud(FedEx Uniform) and he is a two timer already, reason he was fired!

They interviewed the police officer that stopped him and he was laughing quite a bit when he explained, it is bad enough to get caught and go to jail, what is even worse, he had a couple previous convictions so now he is facing an enhanced penalty which could put him in prison for 20 years.

Imagine the conversation on the cell block, "what you in for?" Theft, what did you steal, a box, what was in the box?

my buddy is retired marine. a few years ago he rigged a box with two flash-bangs and the porch-pirates were so startled, they stumbled backwards, fell off the porch and the neighbor caught one of the 2 kids that quickly ratted out his other buddy. they were in their late teens

If I lived in town there would be a fed ex box full of crap sitting on my porch waiting for a scumbag to take.

We had a package stolen off our porch couple of days ago. Wife passed the Fedex truck leaving and son got home 20 minutes later, so the thief snatched it right after Fedex dropped the package.

I have since filled a big "Newegg" box with litter box leavings and put a note in the box, "Merry Christmas - Enjoy! You're on CAMERA", that I can set out at our door the next time Fedex/UPS drops a package.
