Had a bad experience with this online retailer.

Ordered 2 water-fuel separator filters and got a flurry of confusing email messages -- order received, canceled, money refunded, order complete. But when I checked PayPal, the money had been deducted from my credit card but not refunded. When I opened a case with PayPal, within minutes I got another "refund" email, but still no refund. Seems like a scam...

Actually it can take a while for the refund to show up, it always amazes me how quick they can take it when you buy something and how long it takes to get it back when you return something, I know when I buy something the charge is instant, when I return something or cancel an order it can take up to 2 weeks to get the credit back!

Yes, there are some less than desirable competing web sites / on-line stores. Sorry to hear about your problem and you will not find that type problem here at iboats.

We have a rule (look in the forum rules) that we do not allow bashing. I edited out the name of the on-line store so that rule would be adhered to.

Welcome to iboats. ;)

I agree be careful when using paypal. theyre not as "safe" as they promote. they are a business and in it for the money. If it seems like a great deal/or a little shady they don't protect you. If your worried about a transaction, they won't protect your money, find another way.

Call your credit card company, I have had issues with PayPal, and never got any results until I called them. But you should have coverage on your card.

thats what happened to me, I had "cash" in my account and I told them I want a purchase charged to my card, they took the cash. never did get all my money back. and they closed the account so I have to use another email address to use them. They are in it for the money and nothing else.they have gotten better/wiser but be caREFUL

hook your paypal account to a prepaid debit card. load only what you plan to spend. they cant take what isnt there. I use my western union prepaid card for most of my online stuff...which is most of my shopping since Iraq has no Wal-Mart (yet). Other than the typical .0003 seconds to debit and 3 weeks to credit a refund, I have had no problems (yet).

Re: Watch out for xxxxxxxxxz

I ordered a part for the head last week. iboats didn't carry it. I recieved no e-mail confirmation from them. I called them on several occasions and left messages, but no return calls. A week goes by...nothing. I figured I got scammed. I fired off an e-mail to them to cancel my order and I was stopping payment.

Well, I went to the mailbox, and lo and behold, my part was there! The company sent me an e-mail apologizing for their phones being down. I sent them one back apologizing for my lack of patience and will gladly do business with them in the future. :D
