Was there a design change on the PCV for the F100

I have 2000 F100tlrz and was going to maintenance the PCV pressure control valve but the new one has a button end and the cross patern plastic on the other end unlike the orig. with cross patern on either end, has there been a design change?

u mean the poppet valve
yes the round part faces the rubber grommet

Yup, poppet valve, I guess the redesigned maybe to keep debris from getting caught up in it.
