Is there some reason you are keeping the make and model number in question a secret, Hitace?

The VX-10 of 1964 was the first Johnson 60hp engine, just in case that's what you are talking about.

Sportfour 60 was an Evinrude name and were from 1964 thru 1967

OMC did market a 60hp V4 from 1960 thru 63, however it wasn't part of the Evinrude or Johnson lines, but under the Gale division of OMC.

Model #s

1960 60D10B
1961 60D11B, 60D12B
1962 60D11B, 60D12B, 60D13B
1964 60D14B, 60D15B

Wait, I grew up during those years, and I do believe Johnson, & Evinrude had a 60hp V4 around 1960. I know my friend got one off his uncles boat, to put on his and try out, all the rest of us guys with our 35's, & 40's were envious. This was a couple years before I graduated high school in 1962.

If it is an Evinrude and it say SportFour on it it probably is a 1964-67 model.

What is the model number?

Hitace, Those early sixties V-4 motors were 200+ pounds. If that old guy can lift it, don't insult him. They also had single line fuel tanks and fuel pumps (of course). I am therefore not sure what he has...
