On my 2005 sea ray 185 sport, when you start boat there is a beeping noise and then it stops. Lately, it keeps going until you accelerate and also beeped when we went over waves. Seems to beep again when deaf celebrate. Anyone know what this is? A warning is some kind? This is our first boat.

Re: Warning sound?

It is defintely a warning. I believe that I've either read here or on the Stingray owner forum that the alarm will sound when starting, in an over-heat situation and possibly oil pressure. I'm not 100% sure on those maybe someone else with a little better knowledge will chime in.

Cheers,

It's probably the Mercruiser combination beeper that monitors high temp and low oil pressure. Check your oil and watch your gauges, either item can cause big repairs, that's when it warns you.
Deaf celebrate has got to be a phonics version of decellerate, to slow down. Was this original post from a voice to text device?

If you have a remote fill bottle for the drive oil check that too.

That is your boat's way of telling you something is wrong. Don't run it again 'till you find out what that something is and fix it.

There's no shame in taking your boat to the mechanic if you're not sure what the problem may be, but there is shame in not fixing it and doing a lot of needless damage to the powerplant by ignoring the warning beeps.

Re: Warning sound?

Sounds like the drive lube monitor. Should be a small clear white bottle on the top left hand side (front) of the engine. It goes away when you accellerate because the sensor is in the back of the bottle (is on mine anyway) - bottle becomes angled (with the rest of the boat). when you go over waves or deccelerate then the lube oil moves forward in the bottle and uncovers the sensor giving you a low level alarm.
