Warning horn

Hey all,

Here?s an interesting problem, I replaced the VRO and rectifier this winter. Fired up fine, but when the oil is low in the tank the horn sounds beeeeeeeeeeeep, even when the engine is OFF but the key is on. Also when running at WOT I get a beep beep beep (no oil) but the oil in the tank IS going down. I figured there?s just air in the line so I purged ? of the tank and hooked it up but no change. Any ideas?

Thanks!!

Re: Warning horn

Is a constant tone an overheat and intermittent tone low oil?

I do not have a VRO, but that is what I think I remember from reading other posts.

Re: Warning horn

Check the oil in the tank. It may have water in it, or the screen at the bottom of the tank may plugged. It could also be a leak in a line on the VRO pump itself. Don't use zipties on those lines. Either the plastic alligator clips of real hose clamps on those lines. It may be a bad ground wire on any of the components you changed as well. Check those first, and change out your oil before you destroy your pump. I got water in my oil tank cuz I forgot the plug (long story), and I destroyed my oil pump.
