Where is the warning buzzer located on my motor? 1988 evinrude 150xp v6. I haven't heard it yet,,,,,a good thing.....but I want to check it out for proper operation. The VRO has been crippled by a former owner and I want to be sure that the buzzer works under a high temp signal. Also, my t-stats have been eliminated and a screw put into the "nipple" part of the covers from the inside. I am putting in a new water pp package and would like to put new stats in also. Are the holes in the covers supposed to be there when I remove the screws or do they need to be plugged? Thanks in advance for your support, Dennis

Re: Warning buzzer

Buzzer is near the ignition switch, either in the controller box or clamped to the wiring harness, depends on the setup.
You should get a test beep when ig is switched on.

Sounds like someone really messed with it.
Buzzer should sound overheat alarm when port temp switch is grounded to the block.
