I recently purchased a Nitro fish/ski, it is powered by a 1989 Suzuki DT65 the control unit is a Suzuki NA12S, problem is that when I turn the switch to ignition a buzzer sounds, rather a beeping sound, I figured that this is normal. However when the engine is running the beeping continues. I have pushed the low oil reset button on the motor but it still beeps. I've run the motor under load for 10-15 minutes and it has run fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Warning Buzzer

sounds like either there is no water flow or the float for the water flow switch in the head cover is bad.

I replaced the water flow switch now when I start the motor the buzzer is loud but once water starts flowing the buzzer gets quieter but still beeps. I checked the oil float switch and it checks out fine. Any help would be appreaciated.

Got it figured out now, not enough water getting to the top of motor to set off the water flow sensor. In the process of replacing water pump.

Re: Warning Buzzer

Okay, I replaced the impeller in the water pump. Along with a few parts that broke while taking it apart !!!. When the motor starts there is a loud buzzer sounding(beeping). Once water comes out of the pee hole the loud beeping ceases, but there still is low beeping sounding. New float switch has been put in. The oil level switch tests fine. The problem is driving me crazy!!! Any help would be appreaciated.

Hi
And the thermostat is OK?
Remove it (but be careful not break the bolts on the thermostat cover... I did on my DT65 when I inspected the thermostat).
Make sure it open at specified temp (it is marked on the thermostat I belive). Try it in a pan with water on the stove, have the thermostat hanging in a wire into the water as you heat the water up and a thermometer so you know the temp is reached when the thermostat should open.
Make sure you mount the thermostat back in correct position so it is not hinder waterflow when it opens, I think You can figure that out when you see the water flow channel under the thermostat cover. There is an air breather hole on thermostat that must be in correct position.

It is also important the rubber seals in both ends of water tube, from waterpump up to powerhead, is sealing. I changed these two seals also when I changed impeller.

I had a similar problem like you and in my case it was the water flow switch that had to be replaced. Before that I had changed impeller and also put in a new thermostat but that did not help. But a new water flow switch cured it in my case.

Re: Warning Buzzer

Thanks for the help!! Removed the thermostat cover and guess what two bolts broke, surprise. The thermostat however does work fine. I tested it and it opened at about 130 degrees. It does have a new water flow switch, it tests fine. I'll check the seals on the water tube. Thanks again.

Hi,
The thermostat cover bolts... well it is just sit down and open the drill box and start to drill, first with a small drill, then larger until it is close to orginal size. Then use a "threadmaker" and new bolts. Or use helicoils ( http://www.helicoil.com )
