Had a engine warning alarm go off on my mercurser 6.2 liter MPI in a 2003 Rinker Fiesta Vee 270, enime running at @3200 RPM at the time. Computer check of codes indicated bad water pressure sensor. Sensor replaced with no luck. Suggestion of replacing the impeller. Any other ideas?

Well,..........

It Sounds like the "bad water pressure sensor" was doing it's Job,+ If you do in fact have Low Water Pressure,.........
The Impeller would definitely be the 1st place to Look.........

When was it last changed,..???
Do you boat in Sandy water,..???

Good Luck,+ Welcome to the forums here at iboats.com..........

Re: warning alarm and pressure sensor

What was the exact Fault Code?

Sea Pump PSI Lo - Does not indicate a bad sensor, only no system pressure

Sea Pump CKT Hi - Indicates Open circuit - 0 PSI

Sea Pump CKT Lo = Indicates voltage high or short

If replacing the sensor did not correct the problem, and you still have a Sea Pump CKT Hi or Lo Fault, the problem may be in the wire / wire connectors between the sensor and ECM. It you have a Sea Pump PSI Lo, then impellor, pump, inlets, etc are the place to look.

Dave
