I have a 1999 35 hp Johnson 2 stroke. Sometimes it bogs down on take off. It has only done it when the engine is warm. Never when I first get on the water and not every time even when the engine is warm. I installed new plugs (properly gaped). I've ran 2 tanks of gas with seafoam. At first I thought it was a fuel issue, but thought it was odd that it only happens when the engine is warm. now I'm thinking it's electrical. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Fuel pumps can sometimes do that when the diaphragm gets old and stiffens up. When you go to take off and it starts bogging do you have to feather the throttle and or advance it slowly to get RPMs up?

I usually just hold the throttle wide open and it clears up after e few seconds.

Time to rebuild your carbs then or at least dismantle and clean them out good.

I took the carbs apart and cleaned them. Put them back on and started it in the yard. It took a few seconds to start but once it did, it idles very fast. I didn't change any adjustments on the carbs or the linkage. I found that if I choke it, it brings the idle down to normal. Not sure what I did wrong.
