Ok OptiMax owners - I am switching from Quicksilver Premium Plus (green) to Mercury OptiMax DFI 2 stroke synthetic blend oil. I have about a half a tank of the Quicksilver oil in the reservoir, is it ok to mix them? I don’t want to start a debate on which one is best, just wanting to know the transition process and if they can be mixed. I stupidly topped off the reservoir with regular Quicksilver Premium (blue) and immediately pumped it out as best I could with a fluid transfer pump. So instead of going back I am going with the DFI synthetic from Mercury. I haven’t ran the motor and all the oil in the reservoir is green and I believe I got all the blue out. Can I just start adding the DFI by topping the tank off? 2007 90 hp OptiMax.
