want start after running

I have a '88 evinrude 25hp. After running the motor for awhile when I let off the throttle back to idle the motor shuts off and is very hard to crank without letting it sit for 10 to 15 minutes.I have a service manual but nothing addresses this type of problem.

may seem dump but i will ask, are you sure the boat is being cooled.

Sounds like vapor lock to me... Check your vent on the gas tank.

Being cooled ? There is 2 streams of water coming out the back.

A good techniqe to use is to search on vapor lock in the above seach box. I did this after reading you problem. Many people and converstions have taken place over your same topic. Give it a try, you should get some ideas. I read about many people having the same problem and many others saying vapor lock.
