Wanna see my new old tractor?

I have been looking for quite some time for a good low dollar tractor and I finally found one. I think I'll name her Little Big Red. Shes a British made International B-275 38 hp 4 cyl, diesel of 1961 vintage.

Hard to believe something that looks that big and strong is only 38hp. Tells you how much I know about tractors I guess. Good looking rig though. Let's start a thread regarding what kind of oil you should be using in her.  ;) :p

A word of advice here- Tractors are NOT all terrian vehicles. They can go lots of places others can't but there's plenty of places they can't go either. I had to call the wrecker last friday to get mine out of the bottoms. I sunk it about 4 feet deep.

I hear ya KB but not to worry, been there, done that and will most likely do it again. I was trying to dig out a dry pond a few years ago with my dozer and buried it so bad the tops of the tracks were below ground level. Fun ain't it! :D

Good looking rig and fresh rubber too. The main thing with tractors like that, is to not let them wheelie back on you. Have fun

Looks like it was someone's restoration project. Beautiful condition. Don't forget to get a list of parts suppliers from the owner. Probably has lots of info on that baby.

38hp will do a lot of damage in a tractor! Good luck with it. Really nice find.

Re: Wanna see my new old tractor?

I second Mark42's suggestion about getting list of suppliers. But I am saying it for the reason, that you say it's British made. Was it originally produced to come to America? I ask, because now, a tractor made to go to Canada, is different than one made to go to Brazil or the US. Grey Iron can get to be a real pain. In your case, I am guessing that since it's a 1961 era, that won't be an issue, but still, get them suppliers' numbers!

Nice looking tractor OMC......

One of the coolest things I have gotten a chance to drive was a tractor up at the family farm that was given to my aunt and uncle as a wedding gift.........It was a Ford though, pretty sure 1946 vintage.

Re: Wanna see my new old tractor?

Thanks for all the replies. I already found a yahoo group dedicated to the B series tractors. I doesn't look like parts will be to big a problem. The new glow plugs and front end parts all came from NAPA and case/IH. I also found a supplier of engine parts.

"Any chance the previous owner's 1st name is Brandon,.???"
I got it from an electrician named Scott up on middle road in Lafargeville. Before that it was was owned by a local older farmer and used as a rake tractor. The farmer sold it a couple years ago because his wife said it was getting to hard for her to steer.
