I have a 19 ft Rienell 5.0 merc with a ski pylon just in front of motor wondering if theres more benefits to the tower vs the pylon in the way that the boat handles and the size of wake i can make.
thanks!

A tower won't impact the size of the wake you're creating. To increase that you'll have to start with some additional weight in the boat. How much weight do you think you carry now and how many people?

If the tower raises the rope up a few feet you may notice some additional pull when the boarder cuts out or when you initially pull them out. When I added a tower on my 17' boat it took a bit extra to get on plane as a heavy boarder would in essence be trying to pull the boat as the rope was about 5.5' higher so the front of the boat tended to lift up a bit higher than normal.

The nice thing with a tower is that the boards are now stored on a rack so it frees up some space.

a tower will get the boarder up easier, i can can get a boarder up using only a quarter throttle with my monster tower which is probably a good 7 feet higher than the floor of the boat. I can go as low as 6 mph and the rider will still be above water with a short rope. As far as size of wake goes, ballast is the important factor. I have a 19 foot doral bow rider and depending on how many people are in the boat i can add up to 900bs of weights, thats when the wake gets bigger and stiffer and we can go higher and longer!
