I have a 23' Mako to power on a tight Budget.
This week I aquired a VX250 VX76 Yamaha for $600.00
The lower unit and Tilt and trim check out good and compression on all 6 is within 6 lbs. The motor could use a paint job but appears in good funtional shape.
I have a few questions...
First the ID plate seems to be gone. The motor has an Electronic Ignition and what appear to be Electronic Enriched Carbureted fuel System. My Research puts the motor at around 1995?
Second. Are these Dependable Machines? Including the oil Injection?
Can they be or Should they be converted to Premix 50:1?
Last... I am thinking these motors are probably not self actuating like older motors since there is a computer. Does all the wiring have to be connected and key switch on to Evaluate spark? Or can you just crank the starter old school and still get spark on it?
Thanks I know its a lot of stuff...
