2001 F115 VST EFI pump is on the bench. I would like to know if this should "run" and make any sound if I hook it to a 12V car battery?

And if not, are there any comments on aftermarket pumps that cost around $35 verse the OEM costing around $275?

Prior to pulling the pump:
- 12v source to pump connector tested good
- vst pump filter 85-90% blocked with varnish
- not much crud in vst reservior
- Injectors cleaned
- LP pump replaced
- ball pump tested
- inline reservoir is filling
- rail pressure zero...

That is cheap. Most are in the $500-$600 range. No cheap aftermarket and it should make a him when power is applied.

Purchased $40 aftermarket pump, applied 12V, pump hummed as expected.

Putting it all back together now...

Good luck on rebuilding the engine due to lack of proper fuel pressure/volume.
