How do I know if I have a VRO2 system or an OMS system? Motor is a 1994 Evinrude 200. The Model # is LE200SLERS.

Look at the top outlet nipple - the later VRO's are brown. The OMS pumps top outlets are not brown.

There is also a noticable difference in the metering of the oil with the VRO2 which uses a much wider range than the OMS.

I believe the hose that goes from the oil tank to the motor is black but I would have to check. I am talking about the the hose with the primer bulb in it.

My mistake . You are talking about the outlet nipple on the pump on the engine. I will have to look. Thankyou

The outlet nipple on top of the pump is black and appears to be replaceable as there are 4 small screws that hold it in place. There are also 4 wires that attach to the pump (purple, beige, white and black). I would assume that I have an OMS pump from the comments above ????

Perhaps mine has faded. I would say it is black or maybe a dark shade of gray. The pulse line nipple on the engine side is blue. Looks like it maybe is made of aluminum and anodized bright blue.

It's OMS if it has a repairable outlet.

Most of the VRO and VRO2 pulse limiters were replaced with the blue and gold subject to a service bulletin. That is not a good indicator of the pump version.

The outlet nipple on top of the pump is black and appears to be replaceable as there are 4 small screws that hold it in place.

If the original pump was replaced with a 1998 or later version, that outlet nipple is held down with an oval shaped metal plate and 2 small Torx screws. If that describes your pump, then the nipple is replaceable from your dealer.
