The oil pump is a piston with a Teflon seal ring, not a diaphragm. The pump is designed to operate with or without the oiling system.<br /><br />If you do hook it back up for trade in, you have to bleed the system, check flow output, and test the alarm system and for proper priming. Those procedures are in the later service manuals. Don't forget to reattach the electrical connections for the oil-level tank wires and the "VRO" alarm.
