vro wiring

I have a 1985 Johnson 90HP with vro. I'm going to remove vro by plugging inlet and unhooking electrical. By the way, thanks for all the advice about this subject. Everybody says to unhook the wiring from the vro. For the life of me, I can't find any wiring coming from the vro. Does anybody know if the 1985 had wiring from the vro. I'm thinking that since the 1985 was only a 2-alarm system maybe it didn't have this wiring.<br />Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I dont think the 85 year model had a warning sensor on the pump, this did not come until VRO2.

Hi I have a 85 175 with VRO I changed the pump wich ran me 250 and the old pump had wireing on it just to wires I had to update some of the wireing to fit the new pump but my 85 175 did have wireing comeing from the bottom of the VRO good luck

Hi rs...<br /><br />If the VRO pump has no wire harness coming from it then it's the original pump. As clanton said, the 85's (first year for VRO) had no sensors for alarms.
