vro wiring

I have a 1998 Evinrude 115hp motor. I am trying to put a vro on it. My question is that I have 2 wires on the tank and do not know where to connect on the engine. Please Help! Yes, i'm a rookie on this.

One will go to ground and the other will go to the warning circuit wire, which is the Tan temp sensor circuit wire..

Thank you for getting back with me. Is the tan wire connected to the red wiring harness? I hope.

Howard, It sounds like you need a service manual. You might look on maxrules.com for a wiring diaghram.

Generally sensor wires ground when there is trouble, completing the circuit and sounding the horn. Connecting a red wire (usually +12VDC) to them is usually not correct.
