Does anyone have any stories of VRO systems going out and screwing up the motor?
I've had a couple of people tell me I should just disconnect it, but I want to make sure
I'm not just buying into collective paranoia.

Thanks.

I've never had a problem with one, I eliminate them and run premix. I have seen engines come in that the VRO malfunctioned and toasted the engine. Usually they work and operate properly, but I woun't take the chance.

been running my J140 VRO since 1985... i updated/replaced it from a 3wire to a 4wire & rebuilt it last summer... i clean the pickup in the oil tank yearly & i am always watching the oil level in the tank... my VRO has always done me right... people tell me every summer to disconnect it...

Pros and cons about it. The choice is up to you.
