VRO REPLACE WITH SINGLE FUNCTION PUMP

I want to replace the VRO system on my 1999 J50PLEE Johnson with a plain, single function fuel pump. I am told by Master Tech Marine that their PN 8556 is a direct replacement pump. After removing the VRO pump the 8556 simply bolts in place, possibly even using the existing hoses. True?

Did the VRO pump fail. If the pump is still working just disconnect the oil tank and unplug the wiring harness and go pre-mix

Looks like a direct fit should be good to go, just make sure you read the mounting instructions.
