Hi,

I noticed another thread discussing greasing of the outdrive and I was wondering if anyone can help me out as to the location of the grease points on my drive. I believe it's a DP-S unit (2003 VP 5.7 Gi-B). I can't see anything externally so I'm assuming there must be covers which need to be removed? What grease is used - same lithium grease I use for the winch etc??

I see resovoirs in the engine bay which have the hydraulic fluid for the trim tabs and for the tilt so I'm assuming the grease points are only for the gimbal bearing - is that correct?

The trim tabs have nothing to do with the drive and/or engine. The drive trim/tilt only has oil in it for raising and lowering the drive, NOT lubrication.

Best thing you could do is go to the link below, type in 5.7GI-B in the Engine Type box and download an owners manual (and some other stuff) for your engine and drive.

PS: We don't need that big a picture so see what kind of drive it is.

Thanks Don - I have grabbed those manuals along with the workshop manual but nothing stands out as obvious in relation to grease points. I'll have another look and see what I can find. I know I've checked the drive and can't see anything on the outside so assumed that they had to be hidden by covers of some type.

Have resized it to 50% of the original size now.
