There are two options for this part in the VP store:
Thermostat: VP 3587597 seawater kit
Thermostat: VP 3831426 freshwater kit
Since VP likes to call its impeller drive water pump the "seawater pump", which could draw in either fresh or salt water, the liberal use of this description by VP clouds the description above.
I run my boat in Minnesota lakes, so fresh water not salt water. The above description of fresh vs sea water is not clear. So I could interpret the following:
sea = salt
fresh = fresh
or
sea = fresh&salt with seawater pump
fresh = fresh&salt with closed loop heat exchanger system
Anyone have any history on this.
